Allestri String Quartet - String Quartet - Glasgow City
Band ProfileThe Allestri String Quartet is a versatile group of classically trained musicians. We are all classically trained musicians with many years of experience in playing for weddings and special occasions. The members of the quartet have played individually with many of the major British symphony orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. We have also performed as part of the orchestra with many international soloists including Jose Carreras, Vanessa May and Lesley Garrett. As well as a classical music background, members of the quartet have toured with Led Zeppelin and played for the west end show 'The Phantom of the Opera'. This versatile group of musicians has played for weddings and given recitals at many of the Scottish castles including Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull and Eilean Donan Castle , featured in the film 'Highlander'. Other engagements undertaken by members of the quartet include entertainment for 1st class as guests of Cunard aboard the QE2, and playing at the Cannes Film Festival. The Allestri String Quartet can create a beautiful atmosphere for your wedding ceremony and we are happy to discuss your musical requirements for every stage of the day. We can play for every part of your civil or religious wedding, including the accompaniment for hymns or soloists. We have contacts in all areas of light musical entertainment, and as well as providing beautiful string ensemble music we can also recommend an excellent piper to greet your guests, various celtic duos, a fantastic ceilidh band or jazz band for your wedding dance or a classical or gaelic singer to perform a solo during your ceremony. Indian / Asian / Bollywood Music During 2007 The Allestri String Quartet have performed some Indian/Asian Bollywood music numbers at a number of Asian weddings in Scotland. The Allestri String Quartet are one of very few string quartets in Scotland who can perfect music at Asian weddings/ceremonies and incorporate Bollywood music during the wedding dinner/reception.
