Andrea Jenkyns - Solo Female Singer - Lincolnshire
Band ProfileANDREA Singer/songwriter Andrea Jenkyns has been writing songs since she was sixteen. Born in Beverley, East Yorkshire, she first became interested in singing as a child. Andrea's musical career has certainly been colourful. She has met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and performed in Islamabad to an 8,000 strong arena. Her music video for her song "The Beach" has been played in Asia and became the most requested song on one of their television shows. Nearer to home, Andrea has performed twice at the Asian Mela festival in Leeds. The event was attended by 80,000 people. Andrea's debut album entitled Ilyis reached the stores of HMV and also iTunes and has received a positive response. She has had various tracks from her album played several times on BBC radio. The album is an eclectic mix of genres - all original tracks - mixing rock, pop, ballads and with a touch of Eastern flavour. Throughout the album the evidence of Andrea's ability to write quality lyrics is evident especially in songs such as One Voice and Perfect Match. Her debut album showed Andrea's versatility as a singer and songwriter. Andrea is currently finishing her second album, where she returns to her true passion by mixing songs from musical theatre, classical with her own heartfelt ballads. She begins a UK tour in 2009 with her own musicians including a violinist and pianist. BOOKINGS Andrea is available for solo bookings or with one or more talented accompanying musicians under the name of her new group Potere. Usually a pianist and/or violinist can be booked to accompany Andrea. Potere', meaning Power in Italian, is a newly formed classical crossover band. Founded by singer/songwriter Andrea Jenkyns. Andrea and Potere are an eclectic and magical mix of musical styles. From performing original songs to covering memorable classics such as Tocatto, Nessum Dorma, Ave Maria and well known songs from the Musical Theatre, they also fuse rock songs from the likes of Queen and Muse with a new classical edge. A theatre tour will begin in December 2008 and throughout 2009. Andrea and her accompanying musician(s) can travel anywhere in the UK depending on budget but they mainly perform in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, the Midlands, London, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
