Band ProfileThe Hot Club Trio play jazz in the Stephane Grapelli style and are ideal for any occasion – background music for reception and dinner, promotion, weddings and more. The group is led by the talented Mike Piggot on violin, and is backed up with a guitar/double bass rhythm section. The Hot Club Trio sound is authentic and they have the dress to match, typically white jackets and blue bow-ties. Playing a wide range of jazz standards and quite often with a ‘French’ slant, the Trio are a guaranteed crowd pleaser. THE HOT CLUB TRIO play lively "cafe jazz" - from the sophisticated, Parisian swing of Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France to the music of Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Gershwin and Fats Waller. The Hot Club Trio are based in Horsham, West Sussex, available for bookings and events in the south coast an London. The Hot Club Trio are ideal for corporate events, promotions, or any event requiring lively, sophisticated background music. Should the occasion require it, saxophone/clarinet can be added to enhance an already versatile repertoire. The Hot Club Trio comprises violin, guitar and double bass. All three musicians have played with many top names in British jazz and also with visiting jazz musicians from the U.S.A. Among their credits, the trio performed at the premiere of the film Chocolat and jazz festivals in the UK and abroad. One interesting feature can be the Strohviolin, an early recording violin which sounds the same as a conventional instrument but visually always creates a lot of interest as most people have never seen one before.
